Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 September 2026. These terms describe use of the Story OS application as it exists today. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice.
The service
Story OS is an AI-powered novel-writing and creation application. You can organize projects, write manuscripts, maintain a Story World, use Story Direction and Brainstorm, check continuity with Check Story, and generate audiobook audio. The public site is mystoryos.com.
Accounts
Local writing can be used without an account. Signing in (email or Google) is required for AI co-authoring, voice, cloud sync, and related online features. You are responsible for the credentials you use to access your account.
Your writing
Manuscripts and Story World material you enter are stored so Story OS can show them in your library and run the features you request. Do not submit content you are not allowed to use. AI output can be wrong or inconsistent; you remain responsible for reviewing and editing generated text and audio before you rely on it.
Acceptable use
Use Story OS for lawful writing work. Do not attempt to break the service, abuse AI usage limits, or use another person's account without permission.
Availability
Online features depend on network access and the Story OS API. The software is provided as-is. Features, plans, and limits may change as the product develops.
